Membership Questions

Q: Who can join Vancouver Island Women Connect?
A: Our community is designed for women entrepreneurs (business owners and aspiring business owners) who are based on Vancouver Island. We welcome women from all industries and at all stages of business development.

Q: Do I need to have an established business to join?
A: No! We welcome women who have established businesses as well as those in the planning and early launch phases of their entrepreneurial journey.

Q: What's the difference between monthly and annual membership?
A: Both membership options provide identical benefits. Annual membership offers savings (equivalent to two months free) compared to the monthly option.

Q: What happens after the founding member period ends?
A: After May 30th, membership rates will increase to our regular pricing. However, founding members will maintain their discounted rate for as long as they maintain active membership.

Community & Events Questions

Q: Where are in-person events held?
A: We host events throughout Vancouver Island, including in Victoria, Nanaimo, Comox Valley, and other locations based on member concentration. Virtual events are also regularly scheduled for those who cannot attend in person.

Q: How often do community events take place?
A: We host monthly online events (like our Coffee Talks and Co-Working Sessions) and various in-person gatherings. Additional pop-up Workshops and specialized sessions occur throughout the year.

Q: What if I can't attend the live events?
A: We encourage you to attend our local, in-person meetings however if you can not be there, then our online community platform provides continuous connection opportunities. There is a Monthly Calendar within the VIWC Community, so you can stay up-to-date on the upcoming events.

Q: Is this community active? How engaged are the members?
A: Vancouver Island Women Connect places a high value on engagement. Our community guidelines encourage active participation, and our leadership team facilitates regular discussions and connection opportunities.

Technical & Platform Questions

Q: How do I access the online community?
A: Our community is hosted on the Circle platform. Upon joining, you'll receive login credentials and an orientation to help you navigate the platform and maximize your experience.

Q: Can I promote my business in the community?
A: Yes! We have dedicated spaces for sharing your services and special offers. Our community guidelines provide structure to ensure promotion is valuable rather than overwhelming.

Q: Is there an Affiliate Referral Program for Members?

A: We do offer a referral program for members where they can earn a commission from inspiring another women to sign-up to the VIWC Community. You can read more about the Referral Program by Clicking Here.
